SOUTHERN INDIANA – A Kentucky business owner was arrested Thursday on grand theft charges after being arrested on similar charges in Washington County earlier this month.

The investigation began in September 2023 when a homeowner in Floyd County contacted Detective Tim Denby of the Indiana State Police Special Investigations Division, reporting possible illegal activity by Sean Ray Hall, 29, of Buffalo, Kentucky. It started with something.

Mr. Hall is one of two owners of Power Home Exteriors LLC. In this case, the homeowner paid Hall more than $15,000 to replace the windows in April 2023, but work never started.

In November 2023, a second victim, this time from Washington County, contacted Denby and told him to pay Power Home Exteriors $7,000 of the estimated $14,000 to replace the windows. As in the previous case, construction never started, and both homeowners said their attempts to contact the company went unanswered.

During his investigation, Denby learned that Hall had listed the business online with a Louisville address. However, according to the ISP, there was no actual business at the specified location. It also found that the company never ordered or purchased any replacement windows, and in any case, work was never started or completed.

As a result of the investigation, Denby arrested Hall on Jan. 11 in Washington County on a charge of theft, a Level 6 felony.

On Wednesday, Hall was arrested on the same charges in Floyd County.
