Commonwealth Wine School is bringing its Champagne Specialist Certification Intensive to San Francisco this month, offering wine professionals and enthusiasts the only Champagne certification program officially recognized by the Comité Champagne, the region’s governing body. The San Francisco program runs May 16 and 17 at San Francisco Wine School and is priced at $795, with tuition covering all instruction, wines, study materials, and exam registration.

The two-day intensive covers Champagne’s history, terroir, production methods, and stylistic diversity, with a focus on building practical sensory and analytical skills. Participants will taste a range of Champagnes spanning different styles and producers, take part in a food and Champagne pairing workshop, and develop expertise in label interpretation and service standards. The program concludes with the internationally recognized Champagne Specialist certification.

A companion three-day program runs May 15 through 17 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at Commonwealth Wine School’s main campus, priced at $725. Students are recommended to hold a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or equivalent experience, and completion of CIVC eLearning Levels 1 and 2 is required before attending either course.

Registration is open at commonwealthwineschool.com.
