One of the things that many people want to know at the beginning of a new year is what is likely to happen in their life over the next 12 months and how it will make their life interesting.
A 1924 newspaper published several events that could happen 100 years from now, and it went viral in an X (formerly Twitter) thread, says Paul Fairley, a researcher at the University of Calgary in Canada. Shared a photo of the prediction made. One newspaper said that horses will become extinct this year.
Another prediction says that in 2024, cars will proliferate and podcasts will become extremely popular. Furthermore, it was predicted that cinema would bring world peace and eventually become a world language, helping to eliminate conflicts around the world.

Another prediction was that the public would spend more time watching movies at home, and with the advent and growing popularity of OTT platforms in recent years, this prediction has become a reality. I can say it.
But some of the predictions published in the newspapers were a little off the mark, to say the least. One of them was to automatically kick the kids out when the bed was in the morning.
Another prediction for 2024 was that trains would travel 2-3 times faster, allowing people to watch movies while traveling from one place to another. There were also other strange prophecies, such as humans flying from one planet to another.
The post received many comments from users discussing some of the predictions made in the newspaper.
“It’s very interesting that ‘it’s not useful for our lives or commerce’ = ‘it’s likely to become extinct'”. I wonder how that way of thinking permeates other ways of thinking. Reminds me of all the predictions (aside from the fact that humans tend to go extinct; there are more extreme predictions),” one user wrote.
“This is actually quite interesting. In the early 20th century, there were so many draft horses as an important part of the workforce. My current work is studying the remains of mine draft horses, which are full of pathologies. ‘s research really reminded me of what they endured,” another user wrote.
