LCVA Welcomes Art After Dark – Farmville

Longwood Center for Visual Arts (LCVA) welcomes Bustle Textiles founder Ashley Webb as host for the first Art After Dark of the new year. An exclusive gallery talk will be held on Wednesday, February 7th from 6pm.

This program is an opportunity for attendees to tour LCVA’s currently popular exhibit, 1920s Flapper Fashion, with Webb, the exhibit’s curator. 1920s Flapper Fashion presents over 30 period dresses worn by everyday American women between 1920 and 1929 and places them in the social and cultural context of the time. Masu. Webb, a graduate of Longwood University, is the owner of Bustle Textiles, which manages several ongoing collections and research-related projects for museums, artists, and private collectors in and around the Roanoke area, as well as museums. I work full time as a collection and exhibition curator. She serves as registrar for the Roanoke History Museum and the O. Winston Links Museum, and the Moss Arts Center.

Art After Dark replaces the formal lecture format typically associated with museums with interdisciplinary activities. These evening gatherings have a relaxed atmosphere that encourages engaging conversation.

This program is completely free and open to the public. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for refreshments and the program begins at 6 p.m.
