Traditionally, Meta has employed watermarks and metadata to label images produced through its Meta AI software. However, the company now aims to extend this feature to include images generated by other platforms such as Adobe, Google, Midjourney, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Shutterstock.
In collaboration with the Partnership on AI, Meta is striving to establish standards for identifying AI-generated images online. This partnership, comprising academics, civil society professionals, and media organizations, is dedicated to ensuring positive outcomes for AI in society.
