The 2024 Padma Awards were announced on Thursday (January 25), on the eve of Republic Day. 2. Chami Murmu
Padma Shri recipient Chami Murmu has provided self-employment to 28,000 women over the past 28 years. Chami Murmu has also won the Nari Shakti Award. President Ramnath Kovind bestowed this honor on her during a program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on International Women’s Day 2019.

3. Jageshwar Yadav
Jageshwar Yadav, a tribal welfare activist from Jashpur, was also awarded the Padmashree. Jageshwar Yadav is 67 years old from Chhattisgarh. He is a recipient of the Padma Award (Tribal – PVTG) in the Social Work category. He dedicated his life to the upliftment of the marginalized Birhor and Pahari Korwa people.

As he traveled to new destinations by bicycle every day, he planted more than 5,000 banyan, mango, and blackberry trees on barren land.
5. Hemchand Manji
Hemchand Manjhi, a traditional medicine practitioner from Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, will be awarded the Padma Shri in the field of Medicine (AYUSH Traditional Medicine). He has been providing affordable healthcare to villagers for over 50 years. He began serving the poor at the age of 15.
6. Santankima
Santankima, a social worker from Aizawl who runs Mizoram’s largest orphanage, Tutak Numpuitu Team, will be awarded the Padma Shri in the field of social work (children).
8. K Cheranmal
Organic farmers in Andaman and Nicobar. Chellammal (Coconut Amma) was awarded the Padma Shri in the category of Miscellaneous (Agricultural Organic). He has successfully developed a 10 acre organic farm.
9. Gurvinder Singh:
