Petticoat Fair is celebrating 60 years in business in Austin. The store sells high-end lingerie, bras, sleepwear, swimwear, and more. Third-generation owner Kari Andrews spoke to Studio 512 about his business.
“Petticoat Fair was founded by my grandparents in 1964. We specialize in bra fittings and have expanded over the years to include lingerie, swimwear, shapewear, loungewear and ready-to-wear. We are now your one-stop shop! We have over 15,000 bras in stock, most of which are hidden in a huge inventory room. We work with you one-on-one to help you find your perfect fit.
What is the size range and price?
“We carry every size on the market for lingerie and swimwear: band sizes 28 to 56, AA to O, and dress sizes 4 to 30. We offer a variety of price points. The average price for a bra is between $60 and $80. We also stock a variety of high-end European brands that you won’t find at other stores around Central Texas. We also carry many department store brands such as Wacoal, Natori, and Chantel. We carry more sizes and styles than the big box stores, so we can help you find the right bra and style for your unique body shape. It offers a more practical approach.”
What is the 20 Under 20 program?
“We believe it’s never too early to learn about bras, which is why we introduced this program. All customers under 20, new or returning, receive 20% off cup size bras and swim tops. We are pleased to be able to provide teens with a positive and memorable experience while saving them money. I know these purchases can add up.
“It’s a multi-generational store, so we have a lot of customers who have been shopping for generations. I personally have customers whose mothers worked with my mother and whose grandmothers worked with my grandmother.” I’ve supported the girls of the United States, and that’s very special.”
Petticoat Fair is located on Northcross Drive. To learn more about what the store has to offer, visit PetticoatFair.com.
