The Tewksbury High School wrestling team had a good day in Billerica on Saturday.

The day just got a little better.
The Redmen defeated Franklin and Melrose in dual meet action, but lost to Shawsheen Technical College by a score of 41-27.
The undefeated Rams improved to 3 wins and 0 losses.
Tewkesbury’s efforts on the show scene were outstanding. The Rams allowed more than 22 points only once this season, a 45-29 win over Milford.
TMHS led after 8 of 14 games.
In a back-and-forth battle with a large crowd erupting throughout, the Redmen won the first four games, Shawsheen won the next eight, and Tewkesbury won the last two.
Jack Lightfoot of Tewksbury, weighing 103 pounds, won a 5-0 decision over Jayden Perez of Shawsheen. The game was scoreless until the end of the first period and most of the second period when Lightfoot took the lead.
The Redmen’s Nick DeSisto continued his great season by pinning the Rams’ Dante Graziano in the first period with 113 points.
After a brutal 120-second battle, Redmen’s Ben Barrasso pinned Shawsheen’s Dante Guicity with 55 seconds remaining. At the time, both players briefly held the lead, with Barrasso leading 10-7.
Tewksbury led 15-0 before Angelo DeSisto took a decision from Aiden Pimental at 126 pounds to make it 18-0. The game went into the third period tied at 4-4, but DeSisto scored three points late in the game to win the game.

Shawsheen had another win at 138 as Quinn Carbone defeated Ryan Callahan 10-2, but Callahan, like his brother, worked tirelessly to avoid a fall loss. With the score tied at 2-2 after two periods, Callahan was competitive throughout the entire six minutes.
In a game that could have been 18-12, TMHS led 18-8 after six games.
Shawsheen, who has dropped from 138 pounds to 190 pounds, defeated Tewksbury by a 33-0 margin and took a commanding 41-18 lead with two games remaining.
Shawsheen’s Sid Tyldesley pinned Cam Haitiman in the first period at 138 seconds, James Tyldesley needed just eight seconds to win the match at 150, and Nate Marandaine pinned Cam Haitiman at 150 seconds to win the match in 42 seconds at 157. won.
Neither team had a wrestler at 165, but Jake Metcalf won by fall over Seamus MacDonald (Tewkesbury) in the second period, and it was a good match with MacDonald in the lead after the first period, with Shawsheen winning at 175. did.

The Shawsheen Technical College women’s basketball team improved to 4-7 overall with a 39-35 win over Greater Lowell on Friday.
Fiona Rexford led the Rams with 17 points and eight rebounds, and Jaylin DiNuccio added 11 points and six assists.
Shawsheen’s defense contributed greatly to the victory. The Rams led 6-4 at the end of the first quarter and outscored Greater Lowell 19-6 in the second quarter.
Greater Lowell narrowed the lead to eight points after the third quarter (32-24), but Shawsheen persevered and won.
Rexford scored four points in the fourth quarter, helping the Rams hold on.

Heading into Thursday’s matchup with Essex Tech, the Shawsheen Tech men’s hockey team is 10-1 overall after two dominant wins last week.
The Rams defeated Nashoba Tech/Greater Lowell 6-0 on Saturday and defeated Methuen 7-1 in the final last Thursday.
Five different Rams scored in the game against Methuen, led by Chase Darcy, who had a hat trick. Michael Cedrone continued his incredible goal-scoring year with 19 saves.
Also scoring for the Rams were Wilmington sophomore Justin Thibert, Wilmington junior Darrion Considine, Wilmington senior Liam Milne and sophomore Jacoby Patterson. Gathering assists were Keenan Considine, Larry Cullity, Kyle Gray, Colin Lawson and Eric Banda.
