Forty students from across Idaho pitched their business ideas and won a total of $3,900 in prizes.
BOISE, ID — Idaho students are working to take business ideas from the classroom to the store.
Boise State University Ventura College hosted the 8th Annual High School Student Entrepreneurship Challenge.
“BSU Ventura University Director Kara Van Sant said: “Our ultimate goal is to help student entrepreneurs launch their business ideas. It starts at an early age, starts connecting with students at the high school level, and really builds a pipeline.”
“Forty students from Idaho competed to get their products noticed and win cash prizes. Maybe you can win some money,” said student Sophia Miller.
The contest is divided into two tracks: Products/Services and Technology.
The students represented high schools across the state of Treasure Valley, Coeur d’Alene, and Blackfoot.
“Our project was started at your school through our school’s business class. And they supported us and distributed samples that we tested in the market during school hours. ” Miller said.
Feedback and resources will be provided to more than 20 judges, and children will be able to win a total of $3,900 in prizes.
Some students said it took them a year to complete their product.

Technology track winning team:
1st place: Make-It-Up Machine, North Idaho STEM Charter Academy
2nd Place: Studace, Timberline/Boise High
3rd place: Capital High School Lambda Computer
4th place: Cinematch, Meridian Technical Charter
Products + Services will track the winning team.
1st place: Roba Boba, Bishop Kelly High School
2nd Place: North Idaho Mammicure STEM Charter Academy
3rd place: SereniTea, One Stone
4th place: Shuto High School Brown Auto Repair
