TSPCA Albrecht Animal Welfare Center hosts annual Playing for Paws golf tournament Monday, March 18, at Woodside Country Club, 1000 Woodside Drive. The 18-hole, four-person scramble tournament begins with a shotgun start at noon. Registration begins at 10:30am. The fee is $125 per player, or $500 for a group of 4 people. Applications now open for the 2024-2025 Martha Schofield Scholarship. The Schofield Scholarship recognizes high-achieving students of color who have financial need and have graduated from Aiken County Public School District high schools. Applicants must also be direct descendants of Martha Schofield High School graduates or employees. Applications are available from the Aiken County High School Scholarship Database and address 223 Park Ave. SE, Aiken SC 29801. Applications must be postmarked by March 8 for review.

Aiken County Parks, Registration and Tourism presents the Powderpuff Flag Football League This spring. The program is for girls in grades 9 through 12. The cost is $25 per girl. Registration required. To register, stop by Harrison Her Caver Park, 4181 Augusta Road, Clearwater, starting today, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The last day for registration is Friday, February 2nd. Aiken County Parks, Registration and Tourism Office Offers Lacrosse League This spring. Teams are co-ed and open to students ages 8 through high school. The league is divided into 10U, 12U, and high school age groups. League games begin in mid-March, with practices held at Boyd Pond Park. Registration required. The cost is $40 per participant. The City of Aiken Parks, Registration and Tourism Department partners with the Aiken Football Club to offer recreational soccer This spring. Teams are determined based on birth year and number of players registered. Jerseys and socks will be provided. Evaluations will take place in mid-February, practice will take place in March, and games will begin on April 15th. Registration is required and will run until February 2nd. Monday

Aiken County Boys Choir Bound to Sing will hold public audition/practice session Monday at 4 p.m. in the music rehearsal room of Aiken First Baptist Church, 120 N. Chesterfield St. The choir is for boys in grades 3 through 8 and is led by Dr. Matt Cain, choir director at St. John’s United Methodist Church. . Tuesday

An introductory beekeeping course will be held by Aiken beekeepers. It will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2274 Whiskey Road, starting Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. This course meets five Tuesdays and includes a field day in March. The cost is $70 per person. Keep Aiken County Beautiful hosts Adopt-A-Highway safety and concern conference Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sandrapper Room at the Aiken County Government Center, 1930 University Parkway. Savannah River Site Museum (224 Laurens St. SW) is now open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This museum features exhibits and materials related to the Savannah River Site and the Cold War.
