dubai: For Shubman Gill, 2023 has been a dream year. He batted amazingly in ODI cricket. Gill scored 1584 runs in 29 matches. He was also the batter with the most RBIs. However, Virat Kohli won the 2023 ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year Award. He became the highest scorer after World Cup Player of the Tournament Virat Gill. This is also the 10th time he has won the ICC Individual Award. He became the first cricketer to do so. He was named ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year for the fourth time.

Virat Kohli’s performance in 2023

Virat Kohli followed up his spectacular comeback in 2022 with another spectacular performance in 2023. He surprised everyone with his great performance in ODIs. India’s No. 3 scored over 50 runs in nine out of 11 innings in the World Cup and was the top scorer with 765 runs. This was the highest score by a batsman in the Cricket World Cup. He broke the record set by Sachin Tendulkar in 2003.

Sachin’s record was also broken.

Kohli finished the tournament with an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.31. He has a total of three centuries to his name, including the century he scored in the semi-final against New Zealand. He scored his 50th ODI century in the semi-final, taking Sachin’s record. The great Sachin left his mark on his ODIs with his 49 centuries.

Although he scored his first half-century in the final, he could not lead his team to the title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will surely regret this. Overall, he scored 1377 runs in 24 innings at an average of 72.47 with the help of six centuries and eight half-centuries. He became the highest scorer after Shubman Gill (1584).

Memorable performance: Kohli was preparing for his best World Cup performance in the semi-final match against New Zealand. After Rohit Sharma’s wicket collapsed, Kohli took charge and completed his fifty century. Kohli said after the innings break: “This is a dream… Anushka was sitting there and Sachin Paji was in the stands.”

Team of the Year 2023: ICC ODI Team of the Year Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and these Indians also shineICC Award: Rachin Ravindra won the ICC Award for his brilliant performance in the World Cup, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal.
