Penn State Track and Field Celebrates National Girls and Women’s Sports Day

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Track and Field will celebrate National Girls and Women’s Sports Day (NGWSD) over the next two weeks, centered around the nationally recognized Wednesday, Feb. 7. A celebration of women’s sports highlighting her NGWSD games in women’s basketball and women’s hockey from Sunday, January 28th through Saturday, February 10th.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day is dedicated nationwide to honoring girls and women in sports and fitness, increasing opportunities for exercise, and advancing the fight for equality on the playing field.

All of Penn State’s women’s athletic programs will participate in the NGWSD Celebration, which begins with a “Kickoff Celebration” at the women’s basketball game on Sunday, January 28, and honors girls and women in sports. It is a celebration and honors those who have made achievements. Supporting girls and women in sports. There will be a kids zone with face painters and balloon artists, as well as games and crafts. Girl Scouts will also be handing out cookies and participating in a badge award ceremony at halftime.

On Saturday, February 3, the women’s hockey team will host the National Girls’ and Women’s Nationals Game on Sports Day, which will include a variety of fan events and post-game events, including face painting in the kids zone, balloon artists, caricature artists, and more. It will be done. Skate with the team after the game on Saturday, February 3rd. There will also be his NGWSD exhibit at the All Sports Museum at the game.

The department will also feature special podcasts and videos focused on women in Penn State athletics, as well as key female leaders in the department and Penn State’s athletic programs.

  • Women’s Basketball – Saturday, February 3rd – Pink Zone
  • Softball Community Day Event at Holba Hall – Sunday, February 4th
  • Women’s Lacrosse – Saturday, February 10th
