Republic Day Parade 2024: French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to make a two-day visit to India starting Thursday (January 25), starting his visit from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan state. He will visit the Amer Fort, the Palace of Winds and the Jantar Mantar observatory in Jaipur, also known as the Pink City.
President Emmanuel Macron will be the guest of honor at the 75th Republic Day celebrations to be held in Delhi on January 26. He will be the sixth French leader to attend this grand event. The French president is expected to stay in Jaipur for about six hours.
During this time, he will also participate in a roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders will hold wide-ranging talks on India-France bilateral relations and various geopolitical developments at Hotel Taj Rambagh Palace.
PM Modi welcomes French president in Jaipur
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that Prime Minister Modi welcomed President Macron at around 5:30 p.m., and the two leaders visited the city’s cultural and historical sites, including Jantar Mantar, the Palace of the Winds and the Albert Hall Museum. He announced that he would visit various places of cultural significance.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the French presidential plane will land at Jaipur airport at 2:30 pm on Thursday and depart for Delhi at 8:50 pm the same day. The roadshow will start from Jantar Mantar area at 6pm and the meeting between PM Modi and President Macron will begin at 7:15pm.

Officials said talks during this period will focus on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas, including the digital sector, defence, trade, clean energy and easing visa norms for Indian students.
The talks are also expected to discuss India’s proposal to purchase 26 Rafale-M fighter jets and three Scorpene submarines from France. Negotiations to buy Rafale M jets and three Scorpene submarines are moving in the right direction, sources said.
It is not yet clear whether these two deals, worth billions of dollars, will be announced. Prime Minister Modi and President Macron are also believed to be able to discuss strengthening maritime cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, the situation in the Red Sea, the Hamas-Israel conflict and the war in Ukraine.
French President to be guest of honor on Republic Day
President Emmanuel Macron will be the guest of honor at Friday’s Republic Day celebrations. A French marching group of 95 members and a band of 33 members will also participate in the parade. Two French Air Force Rafale fighter jets and an Airbus A330 multi-role tanker transport aircraft will also take part in the ceremony.
President Emmanuel Macron attends a ‘dinner’ hosted by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan. He is scheduled to meet with Murmu on Friday night at 7:10 p.m. He will leave for France from Delhi at 10:05 pm on the same day.
